Diving and whale watching has been exceptionally great in Tofo lately. This really is a good time to come and see the humpback whales.
Today we had Hanno teaching PADI humpback whale specialty, Mauro teaching PADI Junior Open Water Course, Stuart teaching PADI Open Water Course and Ricardo & Alberto taking out fun divers.
Tomorrow we have two whale watching tours, PADI Digital Underwater Photography Specialty Course, several Discover Scuba Diving experiences and plenty of fun dives. Happy times in Tofo! Welcome to join the family.

Meet our newest instructors!
We are excited to announce the addition of two new instructors to our team. Both of them completed their IDCs here at Liquid and their talents shone through. They both bring their own distinctive style to the Liquid family teaching team.
Maria brings an incredible youthful energy and totally unique style to her teaching; she draws the most creative white board presentations of anyone we’ve ever met. Her courses are vibrant, fun and full of laughs. Every day is the BEST DAY EVER!
We set our sights on Mauro from the first meeting and finally we have lured him into our family. He is an accomplished skipper, a talented instructor and a charismatic leader. He brings extensive local knowledge to the Liquid family team.

Yesterday our lucky divers saw the first humpback whale of the season!!!
Their population is increasing and we’re expecting to see many of them this season. Join us for our whale watching tours or come and dive with us to hear their beautiful songs underwater.
PADI prize for Liquid Dive Adventures
It’s not easy setting up a dive centre in Africa. Liquid started 4 and a half years ago, ten BCDs, ten regulator, one boat and one instructor. Jari and Satu, the owners of Liquid Dive Adventures, had paradise dreams of owning a dive centre on the stunning Tofo Beach. They found the spot, they found the dive centre, now they just needed the divers!
The first month was tough. One customer and a lot of waiting. But it’s all in the optimism. They had the skill and the right idea of what they wanted to create - a welcoming, fun and safety oriented dive centre with a personal touch. A place you come to hang out, diver or not.
Now four years down the line things look very different, but the vibe hasn't changed a bit. Beachfront location and three zodiac boats, the dive family has grown. And it hasn't gone unnoticed.
PADI regional manager Anders Heegaard made his first trip up to Tofo this week mainly to touch base with the dive centres up here, hold an annual PADI forum and check out the current IDC Liquid is running. There was a surprise up his sleeve though...An award. More specifically an award for Liquid dive Adventures! Recognising our achievements over the last year, sales and marketing, as well as customer satisfaction - now rated top 5 dive centres out of over 200 in Africa.

Team Teaching Time! The February Instructor Development Course is done here in Tofo, Mozambique and everyone passed with flying colours :) This isn't the end though...Here at Liquid we offer Team Teaching to all our newly certified instructors. This allows them to do a few courses with some experienced staff and gain the confidence and knowledge to go it alone :)

There’s a lot going on here at Liquid...If we’re not diving with Manta’s, we’re snorkeling with Whale Sharks, kayaking through mangroves, surfing some of the amazing waves Tofo has to offer, stretching our bodies on our yoga deck or chilling by the pool eating cake from our vegetarian restaurant Happi….However….Sometimes there is one thing that brings it all to a halt...THE WEATHER!
The last few days we’ve had some interesting winds and quite a bit of rain to say the least! Though the ground is wet, our spirits are far from dampened, and the only course of action is to keep ourselves entertained and ready :)
Our head skipper and dive instructor Jasse had the great idea of putting on a boat workshop for all our Divemaster candidates and internal staff. He ran through safety procedures, how to use flares and equipment, some basic knowledge on the outboard engines and a full lesson in keeping good communication between the boat and base camp.
These skills are vital for any budding dive professional and although not mandatory knowledge to become a PADI divemaster, we thought it a perfect addition to our Divemaster course. Fun and informative, it definitely helped pass the time until we can finally GET IN THE WATER!!
